Greensburg High School students are eligible to attend
career and technical classes at the C4 Columbus Area Career
Connection located in Columbus. There are programs
available in: Agriculture, Business and Finance,
Communications, Computers, Construction, Engineering,
Health, Human Services, Law Enforcement, and Transportation. |

Current enrollment
at Greensburg Community High School is 657. GCHS is looking forward to
the 21st century with a vision of an evolving curriculum and
instructional model that will provide the education opportunities and
challenges needed to prepare all our students to excel in whatever field
of endeavor they choose. The climate of the school is to be
student-centered in the decision making process and is to be one that
fosters collegiality, student/teacher rapport, parental and community
involvement. Students graduating from Greensburg Community High School
will understand the necessity to be a life-long learner. They will
possess skills needed to communicate effectively and the technological
skills needed to enhance their lives. Greensburg Community High School
will be accountable to society by introducing the students to the
necessities of good citizenship and volunteerism required for a
democratic society.
We are a
high school accredited by the Indiana Department of Education
and the North Central Association of College and Schools. Our
structural format is grades nine through twelve. The curriculum
is comprehensive, including both technical vocation and college
preparation that includes advanced placement classes. The
average enrollment is 700 with a teaching faculty of forty-three
allowing us a teacher/student ratio of 1:16. Fifty percent of
our graduates go on to college. The school is technologically
coming of age. The library functions as a source of information
through both the written word and technology. Students have
access to a variety of differing types of computers and
programs.
The students have many ways by which they can become involved in
their school. In athletics we offer seventeen varsity and
sixteen reserve sport teams. Over the last six years, we have
been represented by either teams or individuals, in the state
finals in five of the varsity level sports. In conjunction with
the Indiana High School Athletic Association, we host five
sectionals and one regional athletic contest.
