Vision Statement: “Demand Respect”

Mission Statement: The Greensburg Wrestling Program is committed to maximizing our student-athletes' potential on and off the mat. Our focus will be to mold character, academic achievement, strength development, conditioning, mental toughness, technique, and teamwork. We will strive to become a powerful program that demands respect on and off the mat.

TEAM GOALS:

1. Have fun.

2. Do everything we can (legally, ethically, and morally) to be the best.

3. Represent Greensburg as best we can.

4. Have individuals reach their goals.

5.  Compete for team championships.

PHILOSOPHY:

We will work to teach techniques, discipline, sportsmanship, and a good work ethic.  I believe in an aggressive and attacking style of wrestling.  We will focus on being aggressive and attacking in the neutral position, mobile and explosive from the bottom position and will work to pin our opponents when we are on top.  This style of wrestling is exciting and demands excellent conditioning because we will constantly be moving forward to defeat our opponent.

YOUTH WRESTLING CAMP

June TBD: Greensburg Pirate Youth Wrestling Camp (I will need high school wrestlers to assist and coach during the camp).

Incoming freshmen are encouraged to participate in the camp.

Camp is for Grades 1-8 for the 2010-2011 school year

                  cost: $20

time: 9-11 AM at the Fieldhouse Wrestling Room

TEAM CAMP

June 21- 24:  TEAM Camp at Campbellsville University in Kentucky.  Pre-Registration and a $50 deposit are due to Coach Cochran by April 1.  If we get 10 or more wrestlers, the camp will be a lump sum of  NO MORE THAN $200 per person!  The more guys that we can get to go, the less it will cost for everyone.  Also, we will be able to use some of the money earned from last year’s golf outing to offset some of the costs.

2ND ANNUAL PIRATE WRESTLING GOLF SCRAMBLE

The date is to be determined.  It will take place at the Greensburg Country Club.  Money made from the outing will go towards the wrestling program to offset the costs of team camp, as well as other expenses.
