  School Title I Parent Involvement Policy has been jointly developed and
  agreed upon by <st1:place w:st=3D"on"><st1:PlaceName w:st=3D"on">Greensbu=
rg</st1:PlaceName>
   <st1:PlaceType w:st=3D"on">Elementary School</st1:PlaceType></st1:place>=
 and a
  committee representing parents of Title I students served in the school. =
The
  policy was developed to encourage parent participation in school programs=
 and
  parent partnerships in building effective and supportive learning
  environments for students. Implementation of this policy is an essential =
requirement
  in the quest to enable Title I students to meet the high academic standar=
ds
  for <st1:place w:st=3D"on"><st1:State w:st=3D"on">Indiana</st1:State></st=
1:place>.</p>
  <p class=3DMsoNormal><o:p>&nbsp;</o:p></p>
  <p class=3DMsoNormal>Greensburg Elementary School Title I Parent Committe=
e,
  consisting of parents of Title I students, general education teachers, Ti=
tle
  I teachers, P.T.O. representative and the school&#8217;s assistant princi=
pal,
  updates the Parent Involvement Policy at least annually, taking into
  consideration information and comments solicited from all Title I parents.
  This policy is on file at the district and school offices and can be revi=
ewed
  by community members through the district web site at <a
  href=3D"http://www.greensburg.k12.in.us/">www.greensburg.k12.in.us</a>. G=

  <p class=3DMsoNormal>The following Parent Involvement Policy is in compli=
ance
  with Title I legal requirements under section 1118 of <i style=3D'mso-bid=

  normal'>No Child Left Behind Act </i>(NCLB) of 2001.</p>

  policies two times each school year. The Committee will include parents of
  Title I students, Title I staff, general education teachers, A representa=

  from the P.T.O. and the school assistant principal. Comments and suggesti=

  for improving the Title I program will be gathered and discussed.</p>

  meetings will be scheduled on two different days to accommodate
  parents&#8217; schedules. Recommended meeting schedule will be a Tuesday =
with
  meeting times at 8:30 am and 12:00 noon and on Thursday with meeting time=
s at
  8:30 am and 6:00 pm.</p>

  Parents will be invited to participate in a parent conference or phone
  conference about the child&#8217;s program and will be encouraged to obse=
rve
  a Reading Recovery or Literacy lesson during the first nine weeks of the
  school year.</p>

  Parents with students participating in Reading Recovery will receive a
  progress report at the end of the ten weeks. At the end of the program, a
  final report will be sent home. Parents with students participating in
  Literacy groups will receive a report at the end of each nine weeks. Pare=

  will have the option to have a parent conference on their child&#8217;s
  progress. Title staff will report progress and work with the regular
  education teacher in interpreting and explaining district and program ass=
essments.</p>
