7TH & 8TH GRADE GIRLS BASEKKTBALL TRYOUT INFORMATION…Tryout is December 1st. 8th grade starts right after school in the Aux. Gym. 8th grade will meet in the gym after school (Sit in the stands right of the scorer’s bench). 7th grade will start at 5 PM in the Aux. Gym.
All girls will need a physical on file to tryout. Wear a T-shirt, gym shorts, & basketball shoes.
7b Lost Thursday night to Jennings County 41-19. The Pirates were led by Tyler Waechter in scoring with 7 points followed by Charles Powers with 6. They will back in action on Monday at Laurel.
The Greensburg 7A boys basketball team improves to 3-0 with a 62-32 win over Jennings County on Thursday night. The Pirates jumped out early in the first stanza leading 15-2. The Panthers came back in the second period scoring fourteen points but still trailing 31-16 at halftime. Miles Wilkison led in scoring with 22 pts. Andrew Welage has 15 pts., 10 rebounds, 10 assists and led in steals with five. Wilksion also picked off four and had three assists. Cade Reynolds scored 6 pts., Clinton Lorenz 5 pts., Ben Duerstock 5 pts. and Cole Nobbe had 5 pts. and three assists. Aaron Moeller and Daimon Austin chipped in 2 pts. each and Ryan Fisse had a steal
The Greensburg Pirates 8th Grade "A" Basketball team traveled to Jennings County on Thursday night to take on the Panthers, winning 56-45. Although the game was tied at halftime, 26-26, thanks to made free-throws down the stretch, the Pirates continued their winning ways.
Point guard Drew Comer, averaging 20.7 points per game after tonight's win, led all scorers with 23 points; 12 of those points being free throws. Mason McLeod, the Pirates power forward, added an additional 16 points, while Dylan Mann lit up the three point line with nine points. Other Pirate scorers included Aaron Black with five points and Cole Carder with four points. According to Tucker, Logan Smith, Trevor Foster, and Kody Newhart did all of the small things to assist in the win.
The Pirates grabbed a season high 30 boards on the night. Leading the way in rebounds for the third straight game was McLeod with 16 rebounds, giving him a double-double with points and rebounds. Mann added five key boards throughout the game, while Comer, Black, and Foster each grabbed three.
The record for the Pirates currently stands at 3-0 with a record of 1-0 in the EIAC. The Pirates will play the Connersville Spartans at home Monday evening.

Meet on the west side game of the gym to right of the score table. Coach will meet you there.
Kids' Closet, located at City Hall, will be open on Dec. 3rd. Hours are 4:30-6:30 PM. Children from K through 6th grades may attend. All children must be accompanied by an adult.

The $10.00 gift certificates are on sale thru Dec. 4. Extra order forms are available in the office or the black tower. Reminder that you must collect money/check at time of order. Orders will start being filled later next week. $2.50 per every $10.00 will go toward your Washington DC trip. Orders should be turned into Mrs. Burkhart in the mornings before school in the auxiliary gym, please have your name on all your forms and check your totals.
8th graders going to the Washington DC Trip in 2015 are reminded to bring in their first installment payment of $210.00 to the auxiliary gym before school. If you have not turned in your yellow medical form, please do so as soon as possible.
A new shipment of letter jackets have arrived. Cost is $120.00. They are great for Christmas gifts. Supplies are limited so don’t wait to get one reserved.
Any student who is interested in group counseling and has not had a chance to sign up yet should see Mrs. Caudill or Mrs. Beyer.
REMEMBER TO CONTINUALLY CHECK STANDS OUTSIDE THE MAIN OFFICE FOR NEW NEWS. YMCA and others update their activities regularly.
The Greensburg Jr. High School is once again collecting Box Tops for Education. The labels are on many different products and every once in a while there are “BONUS” box tops worth more than 10 cents. The homerooms will compete with each other! The top class will receive a free pizza/pop party. 2nd and 3rd place will receive ice cream/popsicles. The end of our first contest will be Nov. 12 so start searching your cabinets and pantries!
Students may now buy drinks and snacks from the snack cart after school. Drinks will be water $1.00, Switch $1.25, and snacks costing $ .25 - $1.00. It will be located outside the cafeteria.
