Those seniors who have yet to submit their graduation orders must do so soon. Orders and down payments are to be mailed directly to Mr. Long. If there is a problem or a reason to delay, please contact Mr. Long to discuss the matter with him. He is more than willing to work with students and their families!

Protocol for Honor Day and

Commencement

Honor Day

Monday, May 21

1. Honor Day counts as one of your attendance days. Don’t miss if you don’t have a day to lose. Arrive by 8:30 AM. and report to the auditorium.

2. Everyone is to wear caps and gowns.

Young men are to wear dress pants, a dress shirt (preferably white) and a tie.

The cap (mortar board) should be flat on the head.

Shoes should be appropriate for the occasion. This means no sandals and no athletic shoes.

Ladies are to wear a dress or skirt. The collar which comes with the gown is to be worn as well. (Go light on the jewelry.)

3. Again, arrive by 8:30 AM.

Commencement Practice

Monday, May 21

1:00 P.M.

This begins at 1:00, following the senior picnic sponsored by Student Council at the Rebekah Park. Attendance at practice is MANDATORY if you plan to participate in commencement ceremonies. (Ladies, if you want to check out the “clomp” factor, bring the shoes you plan to wear for graduation.)

Commencement

Saturday, May 26

1. Arrive no later than 7:45. Be sure to check in with Mrs. Cash before going to sing with the choir or perform with the band.

2. Dress is as outlined above. If you choose not to dress appropriately, you will NOT be allowed to go through commencement ceremonies.

3. Leave cell phones with family members or friends who are not in the graduating class. Be sure these are turned off.

4. Chadon Photographers, Bloomington, Indiana, will be taking photographs of all graduates as they cross the stage. The photographers will contact you about proofs and orders. Please, do not contact the school.

5. You may want to write your name in your graduation cap. These often have a way of flying into the air and not landing where you expect them.

6. Following the ceremony, you must report to the cafeteria to pick up your diploma, grades, etc.!!!!

Guest Seating

While the school takes no reservations for seating, we do provide designated areas for those who are unable to climb the bleachers. This seating is located in the first two rows of the bleachers. For those with wheelchairs, we have seating on the main floor on either side of the band.

A Final Thought

Your appearance and your attitude are reflections not only of you and your family, but of this school and community. Please show respect for all by dressing and behaving as if you have really learned something these past twelve years. JJJ
