Classroom Management Plan
Welcome to FACS! I hope you had a great break. I am excited about this first 9 weeks and the great opportunities we will have to learn valuable life skills that will start you on your journey toward becoming independent, productive citizens.
We will start the nine week course learning about communication, conflict resolution, and relationships. After approximately three weeks we will learn about nutrition, kitchen safety, and food preparation.
Items needed for class
- Folder for FACS only with pockets - Loose leaf paper - pencil
Items required to be brought to class daily
- FACS folder - Pencil - Textbook - any completed homework assignment or projects
Bellringer Work Daily I will write, on the whiteboard/screen, work you are to busy doing as soon as the bell rings. I should not have to remind you of this when the bell rings. YOU MUST BE QUIET AND ON TASK WHEN THE BELL RINGS.
Grading scale
90 – 100 A 80 – 89 B 70 – 79 C 60 – 69 D 0 - 59 F
If you have an excused absence, check the absent folder for your make-up work. You must make sure you do turn in missed work promptly, I will not remind you to turn in the missed work. Students are allowed the same number of days absent to make –up work. Ten percent will be deducted from your grade if assignment is late.

Classroom rules
-Be prepared. Bring required materials to class daily -Be prompt. In your seat and quiet when bell rings -Be attentive. Listen and follow directions the first time given -Be responsible. Complete all assignments on time -Be respectful. All students, teachers, and staff
Consequences
1st time – warning 2nd time – demerit/s issued and parent called 3rd time – sent to the office
I have my prep period from 11:54-12:34. Parents or guardians may contact me through e-mail at pchaffee@greensburg.k12.in.us or voice mail at 663-7523. I sincerely appreciate and encourage parental/guardian involvement in the students academic success. Typically, the more involved and support a student receives from the parent/guardian the better the student performs academically. Parents/guardian please sign the following form and return it to me by Tuesday, January 15th to indicate you and the student have read this information.
