To Mrs. Leas's 4th Grade

Please enjoy the first issue of Lines From Leas. my class room newsletter. My name is Mrs.Janeanne Leas, 4th grade teacher in room B18. I am very excited about this year, it promises to be great one! Your child will be learning many new things this year - academic, organizational and social skills, as well as self-confidence and responsibility. We will have a good time as we do all of this.

A little bit about myself and my family. This will be my 36th year of teaching for Greensburg Community Schools. Twenty - five of those years were teaching kindergarten (yes, I had some of you in the past as kindergarteners), eight teaching 4th grade and 3 years teachingfirst year teaching 1st grade. I have been married to David Leas for 29 years and we have 2 children. We have a 25 year old son, Warren, who lives in Cincinnati. We also have a 21 year old daughter, Mollye, who is a Senior at Saint Louis University. She is in their physical therapy program. We are a very busy family, as everyone is these days.

We are very much pet lovers at our house. We presently have 1 dog, 3 cats, fish. In the past we have had a tarantula, snakes, hamsters, turtles, birds, an iguana, scorpions, lizards, a degu, and a piranha and I am sure there is something I have forgotten. We also love the out-of-doors; we like to camp, fish, and hike and just enjoy nature.

I also enjoy cooking, reading and watching television.

In order to keep you informed of your child's progress, I will be sending home a weekly newsletter, Lines From Leas,
announcing upcoming projects, reporting on the previous week's activities, and informing you of special needs our class might have. If you have any questions or concerns throughout the year please do not hesitate to contact me by note or phone (school 663-8112, ext 1518), or e-mail (jleas@greensburg.k12.in.us. A note or phone call to request a meeting time in advance will help me to give you and your child my undivided attention.

I'm looking forward to working with you this year to help your child reach his or her maximum potential and experience of learning.
Again I am very excited about this year, because as we work together as a team (student, parents and teacher) we are going to make it a GREAT one.

Mrs. Janeanne Leas
