Grades are computed from two sources: Objectives and Weekly Tests. Each standard or unit taught may consists of several objectives. All grades from assignments and unit tests will be linked to a specific objective where one grade for the objective will be computed. Objective grades are NOT final until the end of the grading period. An objective grade can be raised or lowered depending on the student's acchievement through the grading period. Weekly tests, on the other hand, are given on Friday's of each week. These ten pint quizzes are based upon what has been taught since the previous weekly test. These grades ARE final. The student's science grade will be an average of all the objective grades and weekly test grade with each grade having an equal values.
As stated above, objective grades are changeable throughout the grading period. If a student wants to raise one or more of those grades, he/she should contact Mr. Mills to see what he/she can do to raise this grade. This is NOT extra credit. In order to raise these grades, the student must prove proficiency by demonstrating knowledge of the objective.
