Nick Parcell is Director of Bands for Greensburg Jr. High School where he conducts the 6th Grade Band, 7th Grade Band, 8th Grade Band, Pep Band, and St. Mary's 6th Grade Band. In addition, Mr. Parcell also teaches 7th Grade General Music. Mr. Parcell received his Bachelor of Music Education degree from DePauw University. While at DePauw he studied trombone with James Beckel of the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra and conducting with Dr. Craig Paré and Orcenith Smith. In 1999 Mr. Parcell's work at DePauw and the surrounding schools was recognized by the Indiana Music Educators Association when he received the "Outstanding Future Music Educator of the Year" award. DePauw recognized Mr. Parcell's work by awarding him the Leah Curnutt Prize for oustanding achievement in the Music Education Program. Mr. Parcell is a member of the National Association for Music Education (MENC), the Indiana Bandmasters Association, and the National Band Association. Mr. Parcell is in his 10th year of teaching at Greenburg Community Schools.
