Fine Arts

Greensburg Community Schools believes participating in Fine Arts helps students create authentic, confident, and passionate versions of themselves. Whether participating in band, choir, or musicals, we create engaging fine arts experiences that help the whole student become a well-rounded individual ready to tackle the real world after graduation.

Music creates an outlet for expression and enjoyment while building self-confidence and a sense of community with classmates. Fostering creativity and collaboration are key characteristics we enjoy seeing blossom in students through the arts.

Whether participating in our schools’ Veterans Day programs, musical concerts, National Honors Society ceremonies, holiday celebrations, or competitive performances, our fine arts programs take pride in their craft.

Our elementary music programs are designed to create a love of music and comfort with expressing themselves. Music and movement benefit students in many ways. Learning a steady beat can translate into fluency in reading. Performing for a group translates into confidence and intrapersonal skills like self-awareness and self-motivation. Playing music and singing games, passing shakers or beanbags on the beat, folk dancing and line dancing can help build fine and gross motor skills. Learning to read music and play an instrument facilitates hand-eye coordination and benefits the whole student, brain, body, and emotions to help them be the best versions of themselves when they grow into Greensburg Junior High and High School students.

At the secondary level, our fine arts programs create a sense of teamwork, responsibility, and creativity. Fine Arts helps students develop lifelong friendships and a sense of community among our bands, choirs, and musical casts.

At Greensburg Community Schools, we believe a strong Fine Arts curriculum helps students develop into the best versions of themselves. We are proud to support our students' musical endeavors as part of the district’s mission: to help students become effective, successful, and responsible citizens.
