Who is eligible to attend the Greensburg Jr./Sr. Virtual School?
Will the virtual students still be able to play school sports?
- Students in grades 6-12 will be able to participate in extracurriculars with the exception of IHSAA-sanctioned athletics. (Students can still participate in intramurals and club sports.)
- High school students enrolled in the hybrid program will follow IHSAA guidelines for hybrid/virtual students. Students enrolled in the high school program may be GCHS or Greensburg Jr./Sr. Virtual School students depending upon their individual needs.
Will the school start/stop times be the same as those doing in-person learning?
Grades 6-12
Students enrolled in grades 6-12 will engage online synchronously and/or asynchronously during traditional school hours (8 a.m. to 2:45 p.m.) with a state-certified teacher. Most students enroll in six courses at one time. Students may pre-schedule office hours with course instructors.
A sample week looks like the following:
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday
8 a.m. to 2:45 p.m.
45-minute courses.
Wednesday
Individual Meetings with the Teacher or Individual Work Time

Families are no longer charged textbook or Chromebook rental fees. Virtual families will be provided with a Chromebook, charger, and carrying case. Families will only be charged for lost or damaged items (e.g., library books, Chromebooks, chargers). Families will also be charged the partner rate for withdrawing from a course past the deadline. Students will be offered an optional insurance plan for device coverage.

If you are new to Greensburg Community Schools follow the steps below. If your student is currently enrolled or has been enrolled at Greensburg Community Schools at some point in their academic career, please contact our office. For students grades 9-12 call 812-663-7176 and choose extension 1010. For students grades 6-8 call 812-663-7523 and choose extension 2000.
1. Select the New Family access request link https://skyward.iscorp.com/GreensburgCoINStuSTS/NewStudentEnrollment/NewGuardianLoginRequest
2. After submitting a request for an account, you will be emailed by the Skyward system an email containing your username and a link to Reset Password. It will come from donotreply@greensburg.k12.in.us
Sample email:
You have been given permissions to use New Student Enrollment to enroll your students into Greensburg Community School Corporation. A user account with username GreensburgJ was created for John Greensburg.
Follow the link below to reset the password on your User account and begin using New Student Enrollment.

If you already have a SKYWARD password set up, please disregard this message and Click Here to log in.
Click on the Reset Password link.
3. Click the year you wish to enroll your student.
4. For the 2025-2026 school year, select the 2025-2026 Online Virtual School Registration button.
5. You will have the option to start the registration process by clicking on the Start button.
- When entering phone numbers, enter a 10 digit number without the dashes.
- On the guardian entry, it will format with dashes and on the emergency contacts, it will leave the dashes out.
- The process does not need to be completed all at one time. You may start the process and come back to it as often as you would like.
6. To finish the process, you need to fill in all required data and go to the final step to review and press the submit button.
After submitting your registration, you will be notified by school office employees.
New this year: Student registration is available in the Skyward Mobile app. The Skyward Mobile app can be downloaded at the Apple App Store or the Google Play Store.

The high school held an awards ceremony for seniors who have earned their Academic or Technical Honors diploma
(GREENSBURG, Ind.) – Five Greensburg students who each plan to study engineering in college presented their 2025 Senior Engineering Class project on Wednesday. Seniors Joey Everroad, Chase Tekulve, and Sam Tuchmann, Tristen Hostetler and Ashton Stromberg have conducted research and experiments the entire school year.
(GREENSBURG, Ind.) – Several Greensburg Community High School students are being recognized for their science projects.
2024 GCSEF Scholarship recipients: Bryson Kelso, Allyson Foster, Adrianna Litmer, Zachary Niese, Ava Wilmer, and Kayla Kramer.
Savannah Danforth, Christopher Mains, and Chase Tekulve are all finalists for the Decatur County Community Foundation Lilly Endowment Scholarship.
Teacher grants awarded in 2023 went to Brenda Meyer.
2023-24 Teacher Grant to Autumn Ahlbrand.
