A Message from the Superintendent: Think Opportunity 

MISSION: The mission of the Greensburg Community School Corporation (GCSC) is to promote learning through quality educational and life-skill programs that prepare our students to be effective, successful, and responsible citizens.

Our commitment to our students begins in elementary school and culminates upon graduation from Greensburg Community High School.  Programs that facilitate student success include:

  • GCS provides a free licensed Pre-School Experience with licensed staff five days/week for four (4) year olds.Transportation to GES is provided. Paths to Quality Level 3.
  • GES and GJHS designated a Top School by US News and World Report
  • GES designated a Family Friendly School by the IDOE
  • All three of our schools have shared PLC time for program improvement
  • National Honors Society Programs at GES, GJHS, and GHS
  • Project Lead the Way (PLTW) Programs at GES, GJHS, and GHS  
  • eSports Clubs at GJHS and GHS (Competitive)
  • Greensburg High School recognized as an Academic Early College High School and Mentor School to other districts
  • AP Classes offered at GHS (Chemistry, World History, Art (3), Music Theory, Statistics)
  • High School Classes offered in Biology, Algebra, and PCC at GJHS  (PE in 24-25)   
  • Robust Music and Art programs offered at GES, GJHS and GHS (2 Performance Auditoriums)
  • CNA lab, Z-Space lab, Renovated Science and Ag labs at GHS
  • TV and Radio Stations at GHS (Vocational Certification)
  • Vocational addition at GCHS (Welding, Construction, and Advanced Manufacturing)
  • State Championship level Athletic Programs (Boys basketball State Champions in 2013 and 2014)
  • Top rated athletic facilities including new outdoor turf facility and stadium complex
  • Agricultural Program and FFA (Dedicated Agriculture Lab on campus)
  • Archery Programs at GES, GJHS and GHS
  • Emphasis on School Safety – A Certified SRO, full time, in each school building (3)
  • Nearly $60 million dollars spent on facilities since 2000 with no increase to tax rate
  • Nine (9) Years as a 1:1 School District
  • Work Based Learning (WBL) partnerships with all Industry available in our community
  • Awarding of STEM and Digital Learning Grants from IDOE for multiple years including a new $50,000 Grant for 2024-2025 school year.
  • Greensburg School District recognized by Project Lead the Way as a Distinguished School District (1 of 17 across the country) in 2023-2024
  • GHS, GJHS, and GES have all been recognized as Distinguished Schools by Project Lead the Way.
  • New JAG (Jobs After Graduation) program awarded for 2024-2025 school year at GHS
  • All Early Childhood education courses; principles, guidance, curriculum, childhood nutrition and capstone are each 3 dual credit college courses at GHS.
